Fraud Alert Bulletin - March 2026
3.20.2026AlertThe First Security Bank Fraud Department has received reports of our customers being contacted directly by scammers claiming to be with the First Security Bank ‘Fraud Department’, ‘ACH Department’, ‘Cash Management Department’, or ‘Treasury Management Department’, attempting to ask questions about YOUR ACCOUNT.
These calls appear to be coming from First Security Bank phone numbers because they have either SPOOFED (misrepresented) the telephone numbers or are using a local area code. These individuals are NOT First Security Bank employees. First Security Bank will not initiate a phone call with you to attempt to gain your account information. If you receive a call claiming to be from First Security Bank asking questions in order to obtain full account information from your company or account, hang up IMMEDIATELY and contact your First Security Bank team member as you normally would using the phone numbers you normally call. Do not provide any information to an unknown caller attempting to gain information as a representative of First Security.
At any time, if you are concerned about the validity of a text message or phone call from First Security Bank, end the conversation IMMEDIATELY and call your customer support team at 877-611-3118 or your local bank representative. If there is a need to verify transaction information or any other information, they will put you in contact with the right department.
REMEMBER:
- First Security Bank will not contact you to obtain your full account number information.
- Representatives of the bank may contact you to ask about specific debit card or credit card transactions to verify the transactions are valid. During these phone calls we may ask for the following information:
- TO VERIFY YOUR IDENTITY we will ask for name, LAST 4 digits of your card number, LAST 4 digits of your SSN; and either your address, ZIP code, or DOB.
- WE WILL NEVER ASK FOR your full SSN, your full account number, or any other non-public information. We already have your account information.
- First Security Bank will not send you a text message with instructions to verify or confirm your confidential information by PROVIDING it.
- NEVER provide your Access ID, Passcode, or authentication codes. We will NEVER ask for them.
REMEMBER:
- You will only receive a call-back from First Security Bank if you initiate a transaction or if we need to verify specific transactions made by you.
- We will only contact you to verify the transaction you initiate, not gain or obtain your personal account information – We have your account information and your contact information, and therefore we will ONLY ASK to confirm PARTIAL information - last 4 digits, for example.
- For increased protection, your online banking offers customizable notifications and alerts to notify you of suspicious login and account activity. We highly recommend adjusting these to suit your needs. You can customize these alerts to your preferences. They are found in the ‘account details’ section of online banking under ‘alerts’ when viewing each individual account, not on the overview screen.
